*Hayley is not currently accepting any students*

Lessons with Hayley are built around finding a love and appreciation for music. Each lesson encompasses spontaneous creativity and openness to each student’s learning style. Beginning with the Suzuki violin method at age five, Hayley enjoys and respects this method, often including elements of Shinichi Suzuki’s teachings within her lessons.

Often referred to as "Talent Education," the Suzuki teaching method parallels the immersion of learning ones native language and encourages a positive learning environment. Dr. Suzuki believed that raising happy children with a strong sense of character and understanding of discipline would lead to a peaceful future.

Hayley has built her studio around the belief that every child can be educated. “Children live, see, and feel, and their ability will develop to fit their surroundings" (Nurtured by Love). Through the isolation of technique work and continuous escalation of difficulty laid out in the Suzuki books, Hayley honors Suzuki’s philosophy that music develops the whole child/person but she also includes her own creative freedom per student.

Hayley understands music education as it exercises memory capacity, coordination and concentration, while allowing a release of artistic expression and passion. She aims for her lessons to be a safe place where the student can feel that they are successful yet are always setting goals for improvement. Each lesson with Hayley is intended to guide each student’s musical journey in a positive direction.
